Partnership to deliver an innovative, vehicle-integrated charging system for the Colombian market.
Beihai Power, a leading global manufacturer of electric vehicle charging solutions, today announced to co-develop a custom, high-performance mobile DC fast-charging system.
The project was initiated following a detailed Request for Quotation (RFQ) from a company operating in Colombia and the USA. The core objective is to engineer a mobile charging unit with a total continuous output exceeding 150 kW, to be seamlessly integrated into a commercial van. The system is designed to charge two Tesla vehicles simultaneously from 10% to 80% State of Charge (SOC) within one hour.
Key Technical Specifications & Custom Requirements:
*High-Power, Battery-Buffered System: The unit will operate on a substantial onboard battery pack, specified to provide a usable capacity of 200 kWh using Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry. To ensure reliability and safety during high-demand use, Beihai Power will implement an advancedliquid-cooling thermal management system.
*Dual-Port Fast Charging: The system will feature two independentDC fast-charging ports, each delivering 75-90 kW. Primary connectivity will be through NACS (Tesla) connectors, with optional CCS2 compatibility to serve a broader range of electric vehicles. Full compatibility with Tesla’s evolving charging protocols is a key design focus.
*Intelligent Remote Management: For full operational control and monitoring, the system will integrate a software platform compliant with the OCPP 1.6 (and optionally OCPP 2.0.1) open protocol. It will enable real-time telemetry transmission—including battery SOC, temperature, and per-port power data—via 4G/Ethernet connectivity.
*Rigorous Safety & Vehicle Integration: The design adheres to stringent safety standards, including IP54 or higher ingress protection and RCD Type B protection. Specialized engineering will address the critical aspects of commercial van integration, such as modular dimensions, weight distribution, vibration-dampened mounting, and ventilation requirements.
